Acoustics Applications and Development Engineer

COMSOL is seeking an acoustics applications and development engineer to join the acoustics team in Lyngby, Denmark. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in both theoretical, numerical, and practical aspects of acoustics to help further develop our industry leading acoustics capabilities. Your main responsibility will be to create and maintain industry relevant tutorials, support, teach the acoustics capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics, as well as test and develop the software.

This position calls for an individual who is engaged in the field of acoustics and enjoys studying different aspects of acoustics and getting to know new acoustics and engineering areas. The Acoustics Module has users in most areas of acoustics; for example, ultrasound, room acoustics, electroacoustics, aeroacoustics, porous materials, underwater acoustics, thermoviscous acoustics, and many more. You should have very strong English skills and love to write technical documents like papers or blogs. You will be a part of a worldwide team of dedicated specialists who are experts within their field of physics, mathematics, or numerical analysis. Your work will help our sales and applications teams sell the software to industry all around the world.

Primary responsibilities

  • Create and maintain industry relevant tutorial models that showcases the newest capabilities of the acoustics module
  • Test new functionality and help shape the acoustics module
  • Assist our sales teams with acoustics applications and concept models
  • Participate in the work of our worldwide support in helping our users
  • Write documentation and web content such as blog posts
  • Occasional travel to events to present the software and its usage

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in acoustics
  • Industry background in the field of acoustics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Love to write technical papers, articles, blogs, and documentation
  • Strong background in numerical simulations
  • Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics and the Acoustics Module is preferred, but not required
