COMSOL, Inc. is seeking a full-time copy editor to join our Content team in Burlington, MA.
Job Description
Your eye for finding grammatical errors and passion for the English language will help make our copy shine and provide a good reading experience for our scientific and engineering-oriented audience. As part of our Content team, you will be tasked with editing technical copy produced by colleagues within the team and around the company. We publish a mix of different content types, and your main role as a copy editor will be to check and improve readability and ensure the content is consistent with our corporate style guide and voice.
Responsibilities
- Edit copy for use in a wide variety of media, including:
- Blog posts
- Social posts
- Videos
- Emails
- Promotional materials
- Slide decks
- Articles
- Landing pages
- Find and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
- Improve readability and make content structure recommendations as needed
- Ensure the copy follows our style guide
- Help update our style guide and glossary as needed
Required Skills
- Exceptional understanding of the English language, grammar, syntax, and information organization
- Strong attention to detail
- Eye for typos and easy-to-miss errors
- Ability to adhere to established style guides
- Excellent ability to manage your time and prioritize tasks
Helpful Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field
- 1–3 years of editing experience in a professional setting
- Good communication skills
- Interest in science and engineering
