Transient Simulation in COMSOL 4.0a

Hi

I want to send a optical pulse in time domain. in COMSOL 3.5 it was the was a example (Gaussian Beam 3D) in which to define a pulse you only had to define on boundary as scattering boundary condition and in electric field amplitude you should just write for instance "COS(omega*t -K0*x)*...." but in the new version(COMSOL 4.0a) if you write like this the written formula becomes red and the wave doesn't propagate nether in time nor in space. Does any body know what is the solution to this problem?
