Coupled diffusion plane stress

Suppose we consider a gel as 2d [square]. Two of its boundaries are exposed to a solvent of Chemical potential 5. The chemical potential inside the gel is taken as -10. The gel starts to swell. I need to model the deformed mesh and see how it swells on the boundaries. The other two edges have displacement = 0. I am not able to relate the chemical potential with the Mesh displacement. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Or is there any other way to simulate this?
