PML for time-dependent solver in SME doesn't work at all.

I am dealing with an elastic wave (solid wave ) problem with COMSOL V40a..

But PML for time-dependent solver in SME in my model doesn't work, thus I searched a lot here

and found that many people have the same difficulties and no clear answers.

When I used V35a, there were no PML for time-dependent solver in SME, thus I didn't bother.

It seems that no one knows how to correctly make this work or only the software developer knows the answer.

Then why put PML into V40a in the first place?

Could anyone give me a simple example with working PML for time-dependent solver in SME?

Hi, Heungson

Did you solve the problem?
I met the same question again.

Hi,

PMLs are for frequency domain only.

For time dependent analysis, you can use the Low Reflecting Boundary to damp wave reflections.

Henrik
