simulation consumes more time to complete

Hello
I have found that the comsol modelling is consuming more time than usual. While I open the COMSOL it takes about 10 minutes to open a file. Similarly, to save a file too, it takes around 3-4 minutes. Some simulations which is expected to finish faster is taking about 10 hours.
What are the possibilities that cause this trouble? Any recommendations or trouble shooting mehods to suggest?
