A moving permanent magnet in air

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I have a 2D axissymmetric model in which I have a cylindrical permanent magnet in air. I have solved the magnetic fields (no currents) for the magnet (step 1, stationary solver) and after solveing for the fields I want to move the magnet from place A to place B, (step 2, time-dependent solver). Step 2 is at the moment where I have difficulties.

I followed the posts of (https://www.comsol.com/blogs/deformed-mesh-interfaces-rotations-and-linear-translations/ and https://www.comsol.com/blogs/model-translational-motion-with-the-deformed-mesh-interfaces/) for modeling a moving mesh. I also examined the models, but I still could not make my model work :(.

Any hints of how to proceed are welcomed.

Kind regards,

Zoran

Hi Zoran,

You currently do not have a moving mesh interface or a study 2. What is it exactly that you are having trouble with?

Cheers,

Alex
