Electrochemistry - diffusive double layer NO FLUX

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone,

Starting from the "Diffusive Double Layer" example provided by comsol in the electrochemistry module, I'm trying to apply the "No Flux" boundary condition at both ends. By changing the solver's method in "Transport of Diluted Species" from Quadratic to Linear the model converges at the trivial case of applying 0 volt between two boundaries however, it does not converge as soon as I apply any nonzero potential difference.

-Could someone please help me to tackle the issue?

-Could it help to sweep the voltage from 0 up to the desired value (using the previous solution as initial guess for the next step)? If so I would be thankful if you help me how can I manage that?

Thank you very much!
