I have just started to use Comsol on Window XP. I have encountered a problem about Comsol with MATLAB.
In my installed version, I even can't find the start icon socalled "Comsol with MATLAB" mentioned
in the < MATLAB Interface Guide>. In addition, when I tried to launch MATLAB using File>Client/Sever/MATLAB>Connect to MATLAB. I got an error message " Can't strat MATLAB using command: \bin\win32\matlab.exe -desktop-r"path(C:\COMSOL35a_cop1\demo', path) .... "

Solution from Comsol technical support:

If the MATLAB interface to COMSOL is already installed (this is
an option in the COMSOL installation program, so it should be installed
at the same time as the software is installed -- you can check if it is
alreadyinstalled if there is an "mli" folder under the COMSOL installation
folder), all you need to do is to set/correct the path to the MATLAB
installation. This can be done on the "mlroot=" line in the file
comsol.opts in the "bin" folder under the COMSOL installation
folder. The specified path to the MATLAB installation should
be the path to the folder with a "bin" subfolder, e.g.
C:\MATLAB2008b.

If the MATLAB interface to COMSOL is not installed, you need to
run the COMSOL installation again, and select the "Add/Remove
Features" option, select the "MATLAB Interface" checkbox and
type in the path to the MATLAB installation. This should be the
path to the folder with a "bin" subfolder, e.g. C:\MATLAB2008b
(on Windows).

Note also that in order to get compatibility with the latest
versions of MATLAB, 2008b and 2009a, you need to apply Hotfix 1
to COMSOL Multiphysics 3.5a, downloadable from
