Presales Applications Engineer

COMSOL is seeking a Presales Applications Engineer to join its Presales and Applications team to work with presales and support the users of the COMSOL® software.

As the successful applicant, you are expected to have a well-rounded education within an engineering or scientific discipline and experience with simulating technical applications. With this basis, you will be expected to develop your technical proficiency in new areas of science and engineering as you help COMSOL’s users simulate their future innovations and ideas.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively participate in discovery calls along with sales personnel to provide technical input and assess feasibility of applications for prospective clients
• Demonstrate the use of COMSOL® software, summarize its features in web meetings and support prospective customers on the modeling of their applications
• Participate in publicly held web-based workshops, webinars and other marketing and sales events
• Provide front-end support for customers on use of the COMSOL® software for a variety of multiphysics applications involving multiple engineering disciplines
• Run introductory training courses
• A willingness and ability to travel for limited periods of time to current and potential customers in order to run COMSOL-sponsored events and activities in North and South America

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in engineering, physics, applied mathematics or a physical science
• Excellent communication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing
• Current eligibility to work in the U.S., No sponsorship for employment-based visas will be offered for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework in computational electromagnetics, CFD, Acoustics, Thermodynamics, or equivalent
• Familiarity with numerical methods such as FEM, FVM, FDTD, MoM or similar

Supporting your success in your role as a Presales Applications Engineer will be other simulation engineers and software developers who occupy the top echelons of their areas of expertise. You will see and participate, on a daily basis, the development and operation of many and varied cutting-edge new technologies. As a Presales Applications Engineer, you will work with some of the most preeminent engineers and scientists in their respective fields who are simulating innovations and ideas for the future.
