Using high voltages in Joule heating

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I am employing Joule heating in a 4.0a model to represent a liver cancer therapy. High voltages are generated between two cylinders that are supposed to represent electrodes. The model takes into account the changes in the properties of the materials with temperature.

When I use voltages <=4500V at one electrode, the simulation runs just fine. However, when I attempt 5000V, it freezes before completing. In employing the exact same model in 3.4, I never had this problem. However then I did not attempt to account for the change in the physical properties with temperature. What should I do?

The 4.0a model is attached.
