Level Set Method

Hello, I am using Level Set method to track the motion of molten pool. The solid melts on heating, and I want to see the motion of the pool.

I wanted to know how do you use level set method ?There should be predefined domains for using it.I read in some papers that solid and liquid are differentiated with temperature and liquid gas are separated by level set method. So can you do this in a single domain ?

Or you must add a liquid seed and do it ? I am very confused on how to use it.

If anyone has any idea I will be very thankful for your help.
