Solution is converging for normal mesh size, but not converging for finer mesh sizes

I am performing a flow/fiber coupling analysis in following three steps:

  1. solving stationary creeping flow (no volume force)
  2. solving time-dependent stabilized convection-diffusion equation for fiber orientation prediction (taking solution of step 1 as initial conditions as source in term step is dependent on velocity gradients)
  3. solving stationary creeping flow with volume force terms enabled (the volumes force is providing a coupling between fiber orientation and flow behaviour).

This methodology is working and converging for nomral mesh size, but for finer mesh sizes the step 3 of above methodology is not converging.

What could be issue here, and how can I solve this?

Thank you.
