Scrolling in the Settings panel under linux changes drop-down selection values accidentally

Hello, Under linux, when I scroll down in the Settings panel of a node, if the pointer is above a drop-down selection list (or if during scrolling such a drop-down list moves under the pointer), then further scrolling will loop through the values of this list, instead of scrolling the panel. This is extremely annoying even from the GUI experience point of view (I can't easily scroll), but what is more important, one can change the parameters at random, without noticing. Can this be avoided somehow? If I remember well, it did not happen under Windows. Thanks
