Conjugate heat transfer in shell and tube heat exchanger

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi All,

I am solving conjugate heat transfer problem in shell and tube heat exchanger.

In the inner tube the Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) is flowing with laminar flow with constant temperature.

Whereas, in the shell side, phase change material which is heated from HTF and due to this the natural convection effects are observed in the shell side.

I am using heat capacity method and put all the thermophysical properties in tube as well as in tube.

But natural convection effects are not observed and also liquid -solid interface location. Also in inner tube the flow is observed but the heat transfer not takes place.

I run this simulation for 10hrs. But still no effects are observed.

I am highly appreciations if any one guide me and give the suggestion.

Thanking you in advanced.

Vinay Patel.
