Granule diameter, PDE introduction, COMSOL manual in Spanish?!

Hi, I need a easy introduction for PDE in COMSOL, How could I select the correct equation to graphic a simple PDE. Is there a model for granules growth focus on diameter, I am working with anaerobic reactor where bacteria growth, I need to simulate the granule (spherical shape) growth focus in them diameters and the granules distribution along the reactor. Bigger granules go down to reactor due they have higher density, other granules keep in the middle and smaller granules go out from reactor, it is a upflow reactor.

Is there a Spanish manual for COMSOL?

Hi Raul,

Very interesting topic you have, and that much complex.

I know only one book in spanish about comsol:
www.addlink.es/productos.asp?pid=525
maybe it can give you some hints to start.

Have you already decided how you model is going to be mathematically, or you want to model an experiment you have done? single granule is not that difficult, but distribution can be tricky.

I believe Comsol manuals are initially good to start. There is a rather detailed section devoted to PDEs.

It seems like "COMSOL Mulltuphysics->Convection and Diffusion" is the application mode you should use. If you are interested in free PDE modeling you can have a look at this example:

Hi

the only spanish book I know about is here

www.comsol.com/academic/books/mecfluidos/

but as my spanish is rather primitive I have not yet bought it, allthough it looks interesting as I'm back in fluidics too.

You could try to get it on loan through a librabry as the introductionary part of Comsol is rather similar for all physics

Have fun Comsoling
Ivar
