PML Width

Hi

There are couple of examples, where I have seen PML width is equal to the transverse/shear wave length of a vibrating resonator. For example, the disk resonator in the model library. Can anyone please explain the reason behind this? Is this because for vibrating resonators, transverse waves are excited and propagates?
