magnetic field around a current carrying wire

Hi all,

Just a beginner's level very simple question:
How to simulate magnetic field around a current carrying straight conductor?
-Should we use a combination of electric currents/electric circuits and magnetic field? In that case no multi physics is defined by the set up.
-If only magnetic field interface is used, then how to define the input current and ground? Single turn and multi turn coil nodes are available in this case but can we use these for straight conductors?

Hello Hasan,

you can model the coil in 2D geometry with a magnetic fields (mf) interface. The length is determined by the "out of plane" thickness defined in the (mf) interface. Check the ACDC users guide coil features section. The driving current can be set directly in the coil property node.
