Rigid Wall Boundary Condition for Solid Mechanics Needed

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I am modeling the forces generated on individual parts of an assembly and am now in need of a boundary condition that can act as a fixed boundary in a particular direction when there is a positive force against the boundary and then act as free boundary if there is tension on the boundary surface. I am modeling a tube that is being clamped to a flange and the current fixed boundary condition is causing errors in where large tension stresses are forming next to areas of compressive stress on the fixed boundary.

Has anyone else experienced the need for such a boundary condition? If you have please let know how you suggest proceeding.
