Hi everyone. I need your help please.

How do I get a Time dependent load in COMSOL?

I tried using a step function but it gives me a very sharp transition zone as shown in my image.

My main problems are:

  1. Obtaining a constant load for t seconds (e.g -10 MPa for time 0<=t<=40 sec)

  2. After 40 sec my stress profile should be rising steadily to a maximum where it stays constant again.

  3. My transition zone is too sharp.

I suggest that you use a Ramp function or possibly a Step function with a large smoothing zone.
