I´m solving with COMSOL 4.1 a 2D solid mechanics contact problem between two surfaces. Since one of them is three order of magnitude smaller, it´s impossible to find a parametric way (in fact the biggest surface is an ellix) to impose concact between them (the position x is the parameter that changes). Specifically I got always an error of approximation!
in order to find the right solution I need the two surfaces to be in perfect contact ... but at the same time the small one doesn´t have to penetrate in the big one a lot (fake resuts).
Is there a way in COMSOL to impose the perfect contact? (a point contact would be perfect, after that I can easily impose an offset to give a certain margin of contact to COMSOL)
Thanks
Giulio
