Comsol file with multiple components: how to solve a single component and ignore the others?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, I have a comsol model with several components. They use complicated functions and parameter dependencies, and share also many things. This is why I have put them into a single file (because comsol can not 'include' features like functions, parameters, etc).

I have several studies to solve these components separately. Each study is set to solve only one physics node in one component. But still, all the studies want to run the 'Form Union' node of each component. The 3D component is really complicated and the 'Form Union' node takes veeeery long to run. I don't want this. The file is under development, things change frequently. I would like to quickly run the 2D study, and ignore whatever is in the 3D component (don't buther even if it is incomplete or faulty). I can't do this, I need to carefully set up the 3D component, make sure all operators are set correctly (the 2D study complains for example that a 'max' operator has an empty selection in the 3D component - who cares?)

Is it possible to do this? I am using 5.2a and do not have the license to upgrade.

Thank you
