convergence - batch mode

I have a simple FSI model that converges with a coarse mesh. However when I try to run this file on a server in the batch mode with a finer and regular mesh, it continues to run but does not progress very quickly. It also seems like it is having trouble converging. I changed the solver settings from an iterative solver to a direct solver (I know its a memory hog but I had to try), and the same problem seems to run better on the server in the batch mode. However it still is taking a really long time to finish.

I am wondering if anybody else had similar problems. Please let me know any ideas or suggestions on how to get this to work.
