Skin effect

Hi, by inserting the frequency domain step into the study, I can not see any skin effect on the current density, what could it be?

Dear Noemi,

Hi Mickaël, thank you for your answer, I have already read this article, but I have not been very helpful. In simulating my coil I used a finer mesh, the AC / DC module, and in the study I entered the geometry analysis and the frequency domain, I used magnetic and electrical fields as physics, but I do not see variations in resistance and inductance to vary the frequency or skin effect on the current density and I can not understand why the frequency is not perceived even though I have used the frequency domain. Hi Noemi,
Please make sure to use the Coil as "Solid Conductor" NOT a Homogenized Multi-turn Coil. Using Solid Conductor you will see the explicit distribution of current in the conductor unlike the other. Please take a look through these useful examples:

Hi Noemi,
When you add the "Coil" feature in Magnetic Fields or Magnetic and Electric Fields, in the settings window, you have two choices under "Conductor model" 1. Single conductor (sorry, I wrote the wrong name "NOT" Solid Conductor... ) 2. Homogenized multi-turn
If you choose the first option, it will consider both the skin effect and proximity effects.

Thanks Nirmal I try to use this option with the physical magnetic fields, as in magnetic and electric fields it is not present, there is only multiturn conductor

You can use the "Lumped Port" instead of coil as done in this example. The Lumped Port support both the AC/Frequency Domain as well as Time Domain simulations. This would take into account the Eddy Current and well as Proximity Effect. https://www.comsol.com/model/download/524331/models.acdc.inductor_3d.pdf

Hello, Nirmal Could you tell me how can I see skin effect in conductor in Magnetic Field physics in time dependent study? Because 'Single conductor' of 'Coil' feature doesn't work in TD study, and 'Homogenized multi-turn' ignores the skin effect. Thank you!
