Integrating velocity field in one direction

Dear Comsol community,

I am performing simulations with the Laminar flow module to obtain the 3D velocity field in a cuboid domain. I would like to integrate the velocity field along one particular direction (say z-direction) to get a 2D integrated velocity field. Is it possible to do it using Comsol built-in functions?

Best regards, Lenin

Hello Lenin,

Yes, you can do that using a non-local coupling of the projection type. See Reference Manual for COMSOL Multiphysics version 5.6, page 349 and following. All manuals can be reached through File > Help > Documentation.

Best,

Jeff
