How to increase the number of points.

Hi,
I need to plot the stress as a function of distance along a 3D cutline, which has not been giving me any trouble. But I'm having issues when it comes to plotting in a 1D plot group. I'm only getting about 5-10 points, but I want more. Is there a way to do this?
