periodic BC with load

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I have a periodic 3d "unit cell"(50x50x50 nanometers) and I need to simulate a compression test of a matter which were constructed with this unit cells...

for example I need to compress it in z direction only
in this case I can apply Periodic BC on [zy] and [xz] boundaries.. therefore I'll get an infinite [xy] layer of unit sells

question is how to apply PBC on [xy] boundaries if one this boundaries is under load and another is fixed...

It seems that if I apply the same PBC in [xy] then I'll get an infinite amount of [xy] infinite layers that are fixed and under the same load

How to avoid this problem?

Thx in advance,
Alex
