Parametrically disable physics subnodes

Hi, I would like to simulate a magnet with both a linear, and a nonlinear iron yoke. Practically it would be the simplest if it could be done in a parametric step, using a true/false parameter. I could specify the iron material to be nonlinear, and define its BH curve as a function, which returns either mu_r (constant), or the nonlinear response of the material, depending on the above flag. However, in this case the problem is still nonlinear, even if the numerical function happens to return a constant mu_r value, so I assume the machinery would not be able to profit from the linearity, and would run slower. Is there any way to switch between the two cases natively (i.e. use swap between two "Ampere's Law" nodes, one using a linear, the other one using a nonlinear material)? Or any other hint? Thanks
