Selecting boundaries

I am creating a parametric 3D radiation model. I would like a command in the M-file for automatically selecting or determining the numbers of the boundaries attached to a particular drawing object so that I can assign boundary conditions and perform postprocessing integrations. I want a function something like: L=function(name) where name is the name of the drawing object e.g. ‘CYL1’ and L is a list of the numbers of the boundaries of the object. Is there a way to do this?
