Mutual coupling between stator and rotor of electric motor

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am trying to observe the magnetic coupling between stator and rotor of electric motor. I have buit a simple model in COSMOL, I have given three phase voltage to stator winding and successfuly generated rotating magnetic field, than I have used permenant magnet on the rotor and prescribed some rotation velocity to rotor. I completed simulation and it seems fine but when I got to animation and want to see the actual interaction between stator and rotor magnetic fields, it shows some wierd results, it seems that rotor is rotating but there is no magetic field in rotor.

I have attached my model. Any help will be highly appreciated. My ultimate goal is to do analysis of machine inductances that is why I want to first make sure that my model is generating satisfactory magnetic field.

Best,
Madhu

Hi Madhu I think your materials, espesially "domain of air" you must include all domain, than for RMM you must divide machine into to part first rotor and stator, than use identitiy pair..
I thing your study is to compleks you must first use magnetic stuty without RMM, and electrostatic
