cosinusshaped potential on piezos has edges

I am trying to perform a timedependent analysis on a combined piezoelectric and structural mechanic system.
In order to start smoothly from the beginnung, i am using a (1-cos) function in my applied potential (at first i tried using sinus, but realized the gradient unsteadyness at t=0 causes the system to oscillate at its Eigenfrequency).
Sadly, the applied 1-cos function is really bad.(attached file). What you see in this picture is the potential at one corner of the piezo surface over two periods simulated with 1000 steps. This shape looks pretty much the same every time. I've tried using different frequencies and voltages, and increased the number of steps - shape stays especially around the functions maximum the same.
As i am working close to the systems eigenfrequency, those unsteadynesses at the edges cause dramatic/chaotic results.
Any help please.
