Need help for Porous Matrix Properties

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I am trying to simulate the heat transfer through riverbed sediment with water movement under riverbed. The porous media is a cylinder of saturated sediment. This sediment is assumed as a composition of three constituents including granite, wood and water. The problem is treated as the heat transfer in porous media in -D under velocity filed.

In solid volume fraction is a parameter of porous matrix properties required. I am not sure that the material properties (density and thermal properties) assigned to the domain of porous matrix should be an average of all three constituents OR only solid constituent (granite and wood).

Is there any option to specify the percentage of solid constituents (for example 80% of granite + 20% of wood)? Only one value of solid volume fraction can be input to the porous matrix properties.

Thank you very much.
