Surface conductivity in RF module

Hi all,

I am calculating the mode profiles and effective indices a dielectric waveguide using the Frequency Domain module. I was wondering if it is possible to introduce a surface with a specific surface conductivity within my model.

Koen,

1. There is Impedance Boundary Condition you can use on EXTERIOR boundaries to represent the surface of lossy domain. The material properties in this BC are for the domain outside the boundary not inside.

2. There is Transition Boundary Condition you can use on INTERIOR boundaries to model thin layer with the specified material properties (conductivity, permittivity, and permeability) and given thickness of the layer. Mathematically this BC describes a relation between the electric field discontinuity across the layer and the induced surface current density.

Note that both these boundary conditions are not available with the Transient Electromagnetic Waves interface.
