Needle insertion into skin layers

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

We are working on showing the insertion of the complete micro-needle through the human skin layers mostly stratum corneum, epidermis and dermis.
Which mechanics should we go for?
We have tried solid mechanics, but the needle doesn't penetrate the skin at all.
While using prescribed velocity in time mechanics, it shows a little penetration into the first layer, but still the needle bends inwards.
we would like to show the entire length of the needle penetrating and getting into the skin layers, how do we go about to show this?
If we have to use Mesh, how do we do so?

Thanks a lot!
