How to add 3D effects to 2D pipe model

I have a 2D pipe model, (a cross-section drawing ). Now I want to add the bending stiffness and rotation stiffness to this 2D pipe to simulate the real situation in 3D. I plan to add these stiffness by adding some spring. But I am not sure how to do it.
Can anybody help?
