Missing documentation?

So I'm reading through the Effective Diffusivity in Porous Material example in the Model Library, and I see a COMSOL function called "aveop1" (under the Definitions section). I'd like to know more about this function so I search for it under all the documentation. Nothing comes up. Am I missing something?

This is a big reason why COMSOL is so hard to use - poor documentation. They should look to MATLAB for an example of good documentation.

Hi Dan,

aveop1 is the default name that is given to the first model coupling that computes an average added by the user into a model (aveop is short for average operator). The second averaging model coupling will be called aveop2, then aveop3, etc. You can see in the step by step documentation for that model where that coupling is created: see section with the header "DEFINITIONS".
Because the name aveop1 is assigned dynamically by the software this is not something that you would expect to be able to find listed in the documentation (Indeed the user can rename the model coupling), but you will see the name of that coupling in the corresponding Settings window as you follow the step-by-step instructions along.
