Instability in variables at certain time points

Hi all - I had an issue with instabilities in a variable (concentration) at certain time points. It fluctuates rapidly and then smooths out at other time points. Sometimes it happens even when the variable is much above zero. I wonder what the issue is. Has anyone faced this problem and fixed it? Thanks

I am assuming this is because of improper damping of errors. The instability however smooths out after sometime. But i don't want any fluctuations to occur in the first place.
