Photocathode emission

I would like to create a simulation model that will simulate the photoelectric effect. Ideally there will be a light source, from 300 nm-22 um wavelength which will then hit an emitter. This emitter will be comprised on 3-4 different compounds all which will act like a catalyst that will convert the photon to free electrons. I have been looking through COMSOL and online to see if it is capable, right now I don't think that it can. Could someone let me know if this is possible and a good way to get started.

Thanks

Eric
