wall thickness for a pipe

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,
I am modeling a very narrow and long pipe with water flowing through surrounded by the ground. as my model is very sensitive to meshing and is already very huge without adding wall thickness, I don't want to define a tiny domain as the thickness and I played with contact pair and identity pair but couldn't make that work. the problem is the model will not recognize to boundaries as source and distance and it is only one boundary (surface as a contact between the fluid and the pipe wall,I would appreciate if anyone helps me with this.

cheers
ASAL

Hi Ying,
yes I did.
i used thin thermally resistive layer as a BC on my pipe wall with thickness and thermal conductivity being defined and it worked well.
