Importing Voxel geometry on COMSOL

Hi,

I am asking for advices regarding the import of a 3D voxel structure into COMSOL 5.6. Judging by this answer from a previous forum question (https://www.comsol.com/forum/thread/13555/Voxel-model-) the direct import is not possible. So I was thinking about two different possibilities: a) load the voxel geometry as a density matrix, so to fix density equal 1 where there is a voxel and 0 where it is empty. However, i have no idea how to implement such a density matrix on COMSOL. b) using this code provided by Matlab (https://ch.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/27733-converting-a-3d-logical-array-into-an-stl-surface-mesh) I tried to first convert my voxel space into an .stl file and then load that into COMSOL. Unfortunately the loading of the .stl results in a "Error pairsing file".

My question is then: is there any other way to load Voxel files into COMSOL? Am I missing something in the alternatives that I've already tried?

Thanks in advance for the help. Edoardo

Hello Edoardo,

COMSOL can import mesh files, see https://www.comsol.com/fileformats. The following document provides extension information.

Best regards,

Jeff
