Hi,
I have never done front tracking using Darcy's law. However, the following points may be of some help.
Darcy's law can be used for solving both saturated and unsaturated flow problems - either steady state or transient. If your problem is fully saturated then Darcy's law will essentially give you pressure distribution or velocity profile and fluid front has no meaning, I think.
However, if you are talking about unsaturated flow, then you can of course track the saturation front. Is this what you mean?
Or if you were to inject some chemical species in a saturated or unsaturated domain, then you could track chemical front which is governed by the velocity field obtained from Darcy's law (assuming purely advective). Or if you are wondering about fluids with different densities or multiphase flow, then you have to accordingly formulate your equations.
In any case, you can always construct your own equations in comsol if you know the equation system you want to solve.
