Need help: Error whenever trying to simulate periodic boundary condition in RF module

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to do 3D RF module simulation with periodic boundary condition on the sides. Every time i start the computation, i keep getting an error that says :

Unknown function or operator.
- Name: mod1.emw.dst2src_pc1

I guess this error is related to the periodic boundary condition as when i run it with perfect conductor boundaries it works fine. Does this mean my comsol do not have this function or something?

Thanks in advance for any assistance / suggestion

Hi,

I am getting the same error. Have you solved the problem?

Aimi, Hossein,

The error is probably caused by an incorrect setup. See the model fresnel_equations in the Model Library, RF Module -> Verification Models for a simple example on how to setup boundary conditions.
If you still experience the same error (in version 4.3a), please send the problematic model to support ( www.comsol.com/support/case/ ) adding a reference to this thread.

Thanks Andera,

The problem solved... the error happens after having more than 2 surfaces on a single PBC, type Floquet. So, to have periodicity in 2 dimentions, there are two PBCs needed, one for X and another for Y.

Good Luck
