Meshing a volume

Hi,

I'm new to Comsol and maybe this issue is actually trivial... Anyway, I am modeling a probe between two electrodes to see how the electric field produced is behaving inside the probe. The thing is that I need to consider the electrodes and the probe to be inside air, the first solution I used is to put my electrodes + probe inside a cylinder and then form an union. Nevertheless, the mesh looks to be only applied on the surface of the cylinder (and on the electrodes and probe). So the question is : How can i consider the space inside my cylinder to be "Air" and how can I put a proper mesh ?

Best, Benoist

P.S.: I am running the simulation on COMSOL 5.3

I don't know if I understand you right, but after mesh building there is a fully 3D meshed object.

I don't know if in 5.3: After mesh building right-click on mesh-node and choose 'Plot' then set Shrink Elements->Element scale factor to 0.9 and set a proper transparency to see 3D mesh.

Maybe in 5.3 you must set a 3D Plot Group by hand and choose Mesh as sub node element.

P.S. A clip-plane is also recommended to see the insight.

Nice greetings
