Dealing with large dependent variable gradients

I have a solid cylindrical domain( at 0 concentration initially) with a very very small concentration source term (~7E18 mol/m3.s) inside it. I am doing a transient simulation in which this concentration decreases according to a time dependant equation. Problem is if I decrease the value of source term, the solution converges but at high values no luck. I went through the knowledgebase about high source term, but it does not really help since their is no continuation parameter for transient simulations.

Is their any way to go about high source terms? I tried very fine mesh too but no luck. :(

Thanks
