Limited cut plane

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey everyone.

I'm currently working on a frame for a undergraduate project.

I want to make a limited cut plane to evaluate the stress in the connection between a beam and a frame. This is to help me calculate my weldings. So far i have tried using the general plane type and inserted the three points to specify my limited cut zone. But when i plot it, it just cuts the entire frame, giving me 1672 values instead the limited number i wanted.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Best regards
Nikolaj Kronborg

I don't know what your geometry looks like, but you might want to try the following approach:

- Duplicate the Solution data set that the cut plane points to.

- Select the data set you just created and right-click: Select Selection from the context menu.

- Define a domain selection in the Selection node.

- Let the Cut plane data set point to the solution data set with the selection.

Hey Gunnar.

The problem has changed slightly. Im trying to make the plane on the drawing, so i can find the forces acting on the weld between the beam and the frame.

Best regards
