Problem with Single Turn Coil and Multi Turn Coil

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

I would like to find ac resistance of a cable. Excitation has to be current. My problem is that there is no difference in cable resistance when there many cables next to each other and when there is only one cable. I was hoping there would be increase in resistance due to proximity effect but the simulations does not give that. There is no skin effect since conductor is aluminum and has radius of 7.82 mm which is smaller than the skin depth of aluminum at 60 Hz (10.923 mm). I used both Single Turn Coil and Multi Turn Coils domains. Single Turn Coil gives slightly greater resistance than Multi Turn Coil, I do not know why.
I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

Akim
