Meshing a thin layer

We have problem meshing a 12 Micrometers layer in the attached model. Just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestion on how to mesh it. I have tried different methods (including the approaches which have been suggested by COMSOL models) but unfortunately it did not help.

Is it necessary to mesh it ? Have you tried some of the thin-layer options of COMSOL ? In most cases, it will actually improve the accuracy since meshing a thin layer may introduce errors due to the inability to properly mesh and solve along with the adjacent coarser meshes.

Yes, I need to mesh it otherwise I cannot run the model. I have tried the thin-layer options of COMSOL but did not work due to the aspect ratio of the geometery. Do you have any suggestions that how I can mesh it?
