material properties of surfaces-RF module

Hi,
I'm trying to get electric field data on the surface of an interface in the RF module. Comsol sets the material properties as the average of the 2 materials. For my purposes I'd like to either set the material properties of the interface, or at least let it be one of the materials rather than an average.

Is there an easy way to do this, or at least automatically back calculate these values? I've tried creating a surface material with the properties I want, but this seems to be ignored in the simulation.

Dear Anna,

This is incorrect, COMSOL does not take the average at the surface between two materials. It sounds like you want to instead use the Transition Boundary Condition. For a complete description of this boundary condition, and how interfaces between different materials are handled, please consult the theory section of the RF Module documentation.

Best Regards,
Walter
