Time-Periodic Motor Modeling
The traditional electromagnetic transient modeling approach has been covered in the previous parts of this course. In this part, we will cover the time-periodic approach for electric motors. Where the transient approach uses the previous solution to calculate the next solution, the time-periodic approach uses the principle that the result is the same at time = 0 and at each full electrical period. This approach is particularly useful when modeling nonlinear problems and nonlinear materials to complete parameter studies, efficiency, and temperature maps.
