Error when importing STL file (Found branch point during search to planar face corners)

Hi,

I've encountered this problem when trying to import geometry from an STL file.

It says:
Internal error in mesh generation.
-Detail: Found branch point during search planar face corners.

I'm guessing it is because the geometry has got two or more domains?

Any ideas please let know. Much appreciated.
